In January 2016, the project partners were joined by 18 trainers working with the partner organisations for a joint train the trainers workshop in Timisoara, Romania. Trainers from each partner organisation were responsible for delivering a session on a topic relevant to the work of the SBS project. The train the trainer workshop lays the foundation for the 'experimental phase' of the project, when partners will deliver activities which transfer good practices identified through the project and at the training workshop for use in their own local settings.

Session 3, Tues 26th Jan, pm - Access to the Workplace
This session was presented by INFREP.
It focuses on practices aimed at reinforcing relationships between the training centre and the company, in order to optimize the training period. These practices include :
-diagnosis, to better understand company’s and employees’ needs
-visit to the work place : in order to consider the best conditions/environment for the training
-motivating employees : so that they do not perceive the training as a burden, an imposition or something compulsory
- a constant communication with the company, in order to monitor the training results
- evaluations

These practices have a double objective: on one hand to straighten the company performance, and on the other hand to take into consideration employees’ needs.
The session focused in particular on a training device called MSF ("Mastery of basic knowledge") funded by the joint registered collection agencies of the food sector industry OPCALIM.

Session 4, Weds 27th Jan, am - Embedding Basic Skills
This session was jointly presented by BEST and Learning and Work Institute, with partners The Manchester College and Learn Devon. Trainers from BEST shared lessons from their work delivering work-related basic skills training in the hospitality sector. Learning and Work Institute presented the Citizens' Curriculum pilot project - an approach to embedding basic skills to engage and motivated disadvantaged adults into learning.
Session 5, Weds 27th Jan, pm - e-Learning and Blended Learning
In this session, held by Folkeuniversitetet, we looked at Blended learning and e-learning as an alternative to the traditional classroom teaching. Folkeuniversitetet Sør-Øst has enjoyed a great deal of success by using a form of blended learning that combines teaching sessions with extensive tuition through online audio and video. It refers to this learning concept as The Digital classroom. It has experienced low attrition, good examination results and strong commitment after using this method.
